Job summary

Joy of Learning Center is seeking passionate individuals for full-time or part-time positions as a GA Pre-K Assistant Teacher. The role supports the Lead Teacher in delivering the state-approved Pre-K curriculum, promoting intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development in a safe, nurturing classroom that meets DECAL standards.

You will assist with planning and facilitating activities, prepare learning centers, monitor ratios, and support daily routines including meals and rest.

Qualifications

• GA Pre-K Assistant Teacher role requires supporting the Lead Teacher and implementing Georgia’s state-approved Pre-K curriculum to promote development.
• Maintain required student ratios and supervise age-appropriate activities.
• Communicate with families, Lead Teacher, and program leadership in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in implementing the Georgia Pre-K curriculum.
• Plan and facilitate age-appropriate small- and large-group activities.
• Prepare materials and learning centers; manage attendance and progress records.
• Supervise children to maintain required ratios and support daily routines.
• Document attendance, activities and child progress in the classroom system.
