Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking an assistant teacher who is passionate about nurturing young minds and engaging with the community in Philadelphia. You will assist in planning engaging, age-appropriate curricula and help create a warm, safe environment for children.

The role requires either a CDA credential or an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, plus 2 years (2500 hours) of verified childcare experience and related NJ requirements.

Qualifications

• CDA credential OR Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from an accredited institution.
• 2 years (2500 hours) verified childcare experience and all NJ educational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing dynamic curricula to ensure fun, child-centered, and age-appropriate lessons are offered.
• Cultivate a sensitive, patient childcare environment for both children and families.
• Maintain a healthy environment through light cleaning and supporting personal care routines of the children.
• Supervise each child in your care by being able to identify, SEE, HEAR, DIRECT and ASSIST, always ensuring a safe environment.
• Uphold all YMCA, State, and Quality Rating Systems policies and guidelines for overall commitment to quality in childcare.
