Job summary

The Goddard School located in Missouri City, TX is seeking a motivated and caring Assistant Teacher. You will support the Lead Teacher in creating engaging programs, managing the classroom and ensuring a safe, stimulating environment.

You'll support the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans, supervising children, and communicating with families about progress. This role emphasises a nurturing team environment and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; ECE degree preferred.
• Experience with young children in licensed childcare or preschool setting.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must pass state background checks and meet state requirements.
• Demonstrates empathy and caring toward children.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher with age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Support children's social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions.
• Prepare classroom materials and maintain a safe, clean, inviting learning environment.
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster a sense of belonging.
• Communicate with families about their child’s progress and daily activities.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations.
• Support daily care routines and tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment.
