Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools seeks a Pre-K Assistant to support the classroom teacher and assist with instruction for students. Under supervision, you will help create a safe, engaging learning environment and carry out assigned tasks to support curriculum delivery.

You will supervise students in various settings, prepare materials, monitor attendance, and participate in professional development to promote inclusive practices and positive communication within the school community.

Qualifications

• CDA credential required.
• Bachelor’s/associates degree in relevant field preferred or pursuing with six credit hours/year.
• Experience or coursework in early childhood development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all laws, policies, and procedures.
• Assist students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, and yards.
• Enforce school policies and rules governing students.
• Coordinate duties with classroom teacher to support instruction.
• Prepare lesson materials, displays, and demonstrations for assigned classroom(s).
• Assist with attendance procedures and record keeping.
• Participate in daily bus, car, and van transportation duties for students.
