Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking a Pre-K Assistant for Exceptional Children. Under general supervision, the assistant provides support to the classroom teacher and helps with instruction of students in a 9-month schedule setting.

You will work on-site, assisting with materials, supervising students, and reinforcing learning concepts in a cooperative team environment. The ideal candidate will have a CDA credential or be pursuing a related degree, with prior experience in early childhood

Qualifications

• CDA credential required or pursued with progress documented.
• Six semester hours per year toward a degree in early childhood or related field.
• Experience in an early childhood setting preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to state, federal, and local policies and procedures.
• Assist classroom teacher with instruction and small-group support.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, and cafeteria areas.
• Monitor student progress and assist with materials and portfolios.
• Prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Participate in daily transportation duties as needed.
• Support inclusive, positive classroom environment.

Education

Bachelor's degree / ECE-related degree
