Job summary

AirPro Fan & Blower Company in Rhinelander, WI, is seeking a Pre-Fab Spin Forming Technician to form and weld metal components for centrifugal fans. You will prepare parts, operate CNC spin forming machines, and weld to engineered designs.

The role requires reading blueprints, using hand and power tools, and maintaining safety standards in a heavy-duty manufacturing environment. Training is provided, with opportunities to advance in a 100% employee-owned company.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Certificate in welding is a plus.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Weld various metals including but not limited to carbon steel, aluminum and stainless alloys.
• Operate MIG welding equipment and spin forming machines to specification.
• Read drawings/blueprints and measure parts to ensure conformance.
• Enter job information into ERP software and maintain documentation.
• Follow safety guidelines and use proper lifting techniques.

What’s the Job?

The Pre-Fab Spin Forming Technician forms and welds metal components intended for the spinning process to produce high-quality, heavy-duty centrifugal fans in industrial applications. Parts preparation will include but is not limited to grinding, hammering, etc. The position also includes operating and basic programming edits on CNC spin forming machines as per the engineered design.

Physical Requirements

Ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane. Ability to lift 50 -75 lbs. regularly and 100 lbs. occasionally. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Noise level is moderate to high. Majority of work is performed indoors. Temperatures can range from hot to cold.

Job Duties & Skills

To succeed in this role at AirPro, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with reasonable on-the-job training as needed.

• Weld various metals including but not limited to carbon steel, aluminum and stainless alloys
• Work from drawings/blueprints
• Select, align and secure holding fixtures, tools, attachments and materials on weld tables
• Fit up and tack weld as necessary using care and judgment to compensate for shrink or distortions
• Set up and operate MIG welding equipment as well as sheet metal fabricating and forming machines such as pinch rollers and plasma burning equipment to produce parts in accordance with the specification
• Operate CNC spin forming machines to form metal parts to specification
• Measure and examine formed parts to ensure conformance to specifications
• Utilize a forklift and/or crane according to standard operating procedure, safety regulations and practices
• Regularly check work to verify dimensions, ensure compliance to specifications and make necessary adjustments or corrections
• Confer with engineers and production personnel to resolve machining or assembly issues
• Perform routine maintenance on primary equipment
• Remove all slag, burrs and sharps edges from finished assemblies
• Complete all required documentation including entering job information into ERP software
• Ensure quality standards and processes are used
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Ensure safety guidelines are being met
• Use proper lifting techniques
• Use approved safety shoes, safety glasses and earplugs
• Perform all job duties in a manner safe to self and others
