Job summary

Fluidstack is seeking a Senior Pre-construction Lead in Austin, TX to guide large-scale GPU data center projects from concept through GMP. You will collaborate with Real Estate, Design Engineering, Procurement, and Construction to ensure scalable, efficient delivery.

You will conduct constructability reviews, evaluate sites, and develop comprehensive scope packages and RFPs. Expect 20-30% travel across regions to align technical and commercial goals.

Qualifications

• Experience leading pre-construction for large-scale data center, industrial, or mission-critical projects.
• Experience conducting constructability reviews for electrical, mechanical, structural and civil designs.
• Ability to perform site due diligence (geotechnical, utilities, zoning and permitting) and translate into schedule/budget impact.
• Develop scope packages and RFPs; manage GC pre-construction services and negotiations.
• Run construction cost analysis from concept through GMP and compare to market.
• Willingness to travel 20-30% to sites and coordinate across regions/time zones.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-construction for large-scale GPU data center projects as we scale to multiple gigawatts, linking Real Estate, Design Engineering, Procurement, and Construction.
• Run constructability reviews focusing on high-density power distribution and liquid cooling, plus utility interconnections.
• Perform site evaluations (electrical capacity, utilities, civil/structural, phasing) and summarize site-specific requirements impacting schedule and cost.
• Develop construction scope packages and RFPs; manage GC pre-construction services and subcontractor evaluations.
• Lead construction cost analysis from conceptual phase through GMP; validate estimates against market data.
• Create handoff packages for Construction Managers and coordinate terms with Contracts, Legal, and Commercial on risk allocation.
