Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Construction Estimator to lead the pre-construction estimating and scheduling team for commercial projects in the Charlotte, NC area. This role drives process improvement, collaborates with internal teams and external stakeholders, and supports business development with accurate budgets and schedules.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in pre-construction management, a related bachelor’s degree, and strong proficiency in estimating software and project management tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in pre-construction management or related role.
• Bachelor's degree in construction-related field.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-construction estimating and scheduling activities for commercial projects.
• Develop, implement, and improve pre-construction processes in response to market conditions.
• Support business development with accurate estimates, schedules, and market insights.
• Collaborate with ownership to review business plans, financial projections and strategic objectives.
• Manage subcontractor relationships including sourcing and prequalification.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to confirm feasibility.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for pre-construction efforts.
• Lead value engineering to identify cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
• Prepare and present pre-construction plans and analyses to clients and senior leadership.
