Job summary

Michael Page partners with a rapidly growing ENR general contractor in Charlotte to recruit a seasoned Preconstruction Manager. This role focuses on accurate estimates, bid development, and collaborating with project teams to drive scope, schedule, and budget alignment.

Ideal candidates will bring 5+ years of estimating experience, familiarity with negotiated bids, and a BA/BS in construction-related field. We offer a competitive base, bonus, vehicle allowance, and strong health benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating experience in the construction industry, ideally with a commercial general contractor.
• Experience with negotiated bids is preferred.
• Bachelor degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field.
• Strong business acumen and professional demeanor to manage client relationships.
• Proficiency with construction software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to assess scope and requirements.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and solicit subcontractor/vendor pricing.
• Develop and submit complete bid proposals in response to RFPs and ITBs.
• Collaborate with preconstruction and project teams to align on scope, schedule, and budget.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives.
• Maintain historical cost data and track market pricing trends.
• Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings to evaluate project conditions.
• Monitor bid outcomes and provide follow-up as needed.
