Job summary

KWS Seeds LLC is seeking a permanent, full-time Pre-Commercial Agricultural Supervisor based in Roseburg, OR. You will secure and manage fields for pre-commercial activities, oversee nursery planting and harvest, and lead labor crews across diverse field operations.

Your responsibilities include field isolation, cultural practices, heavy equipment operation, and ensuring safety compliance. A Bachelor’s degree in agriculture and 3+ years in farming are required, along with a valid driver’s

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Crop Science or related field.
3+ years of experience in agriculture.
Private Pesticide Applicator’s License or ability to obtain one.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to travel out of state and drive ~30,000 miles annually.

Responsibilities

Locate and secure field isolations for planting and transplanting.
Manage pre-commercial steck nursery planting and isolation transplanting.
Oversee steck and seed harvest.
Execute cultural field practices: bed prep, chemical/fertilizer application, field maintenance and irrigation.
Operate and maintain heavy equipment (tractor, sprayer, combine, planter).
Meet/exceed quality and yield standards.
Document seed production life-cycle; manage labor crews and field staff.
Maintain positive relationships with growers, seed associations and public.
Ensure PPE, safety policies and company rules are followed.
Travel as needed for business.
