Job summary

KWS Seeds LLC is seeking a permanent, full-time Pre-Commercial Agricultural Supervisor based in Roseburg, Oregon. You will secure fields, manage pre-commercial steck nurseries, oversee seed harvests, and lead field operations including bed prep, irrigation, and chemical applications.

You will supervise labor crews, ensure safety policies are followed, and travel as needed. A Bachelor's in Agriculture and 3+ years in farming are required; a pesticide license and valid driver’s license are needed,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with concentration in Agriculture, Crop Science or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in agriculture.
• Demonstrated experience operating, loading and driving a loaded trailer.
• Hold, or be able to obtain a Private Pesticide Applicator’s License.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to travel out of state and drive approximately 30,000 miles annually.

Responsibilities

• Locate and secure field isolations for planting and transplanting.
• Manage pre-commercial steck nursery planting and isolation transplanting.
• Manage steck and seed harvest.
• Execute cultural field practices: bed prep, chemical/fertilizer application, field maintenance, irrigation management.
• Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as tractor, sprayer, combine, planter.
• Meet and/or exceed quality and yield standards.
• Document control through seed production life-cycle.
• Manage labor crews and field employees; conduct Employee Supervisor Dialogue annually.
• Maintain relationships with growers, seed associations, and the public.
• Ensure safety policies and PPE usage.
