Job summary

Princeton Orthopaedic Associates is seeking a Pre-Certification Surgery Specialist to authorize upcoming surgeries, liaise with hospitals and clinical staff, and ensure smooth pre-service reviews. A strong sense of urgency, multi-tasking ability, and professional demeanor are essential.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of related experience, familiarity with HIPAA and medical terminology, and comfort using electronic medical record systems in a fast-paced orthopaedic setting.

Qualifications

  • At least 1–2 years of previous experience is required (orthopaedics preferred).
  • Experience with health information, worker’s comp, motor vehicles, and customer service will be beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain pre-certifications and pre-determinations for upcoming surgeries
  • Request treatment records, as needed, for use in pre-service insurance reviews
  • Maintain ongoing communication for the efficient clinic operations
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Must be organized and able to work in a fast paced, high-volume environment with excellent follow-through
  • Ability to multi-task while producing accurate work
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality
  • Ability to navigate electronic medical record systems efficiently
  • Assist with miscellaneous tasks and projects, as needed

Requirements
We are seeking an experienced Pre-Certification Surgery Specialist. As a Pre-Certification Surgery Specialist, you will be responsible for authorizing upcoming surgeries. You will have the opportunity to build and maintain a positive working relationship with the hospitals, patients, and clinical staff. To be successful, you must have a strong ability to multi-task, a strict sense of urgency, be technically savvy, service-oriented, communicate effectively, and consistently display a professional demeanor.

Compensation & Benefits
OrthoNJ, LLC is required by New Jersey law to disclose the compensation range for this position. The hiring range for this role is $20.00-$28.00 per hour. Compensation is determined based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, relevant experience, and geographic location. Certain roles may also be eligible for additional compensation, such as bonuses or incentive pay, as well as benefits. Eligible full-time employees are offered a comprehensive benefits package, which may include paid time off, medical, dental, vision, and a retirement plan.
