Job summary

Kansas City Kansas Community College is seeking a Grants Coordinator II - Pre - Award to manage and optimize pre-award grant activities and related reporting. The role involves seeking new opportunities aligned with the college’s mission and coordinating with external sponsors and internal PI teams.

The successful candidate will collaborate with Finance and Operations, ensure compliance with grant regulations, and support budgeting, subcontracting, and post-award transitions as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to review grant proposals to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
• Collaborate with staff on preparing grant and contract proposals for external sponsors.
• Efficiently complete administrative setup of grants and contracts in the financial system.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, manage, and optimize all grant-seeking efforts (pre-award) and related reporting requirements.
• Strengthen and enhance the grant procurement and administration process, overseeing grant fundraising, writing new applications with subject-matter support, preparing progress reports, ensuring compliance with grant regulations.
• Collaborate with designated Finance and Operations staff on budgets, subcontract documents, cost share, and other requirements.
• Provide guidance to ensure proper controls and best practices in the Grants Office, and advise on post-award processes.
• Collaborate with the Controller to document payments and expenditures.
• Research and pursue new grant funding opportunities to meet identified goals and needs.
• Act as liaison between contracted external grant agencies and college personnel.
