Job summary

Olean General Hospital in Bradford, PA seeks a Referral Authorization Specialist to ensure referrals are managed for ancillary testing, obtain pre-authorization, and deliver excellent customer service to referring physicians and patients.

This full-time, onsite role in BRMC Practice Management operates 8:00 to 17:00 with a bi-weekly pay schedule; wage ranges from $16.00 to $21.66 hourly, with pay based on experience and bargaining agreements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; LPN preferred/licensed in PA if applying as LPN.
• PA driver's license; LPN license if applying as LPN.
• Two years of medical office experience with billing and insurance.
• Ability to use a computer and word processing; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Assures that all referrals are managed effectively and efficiently for ancillary testing.
• Provides high-level customer service to referring physicians and referred patients.
• Obtains pre-authorization for ancillary tests and performs administrative support.
• Applies policies and procedures and uses independent judgment in a medical setting.
• Maintains knowledge of insurance criteria per contracts/changes; may be reassigned within OGH/BRMC offices.
