Job summary

Hopebridge is seeking an Authorization Specialist to support our families by verifying insurance, determining pre-authorization needs, and securing authorizations for scheduled services. The role involves documentation within the system, communication with physicians and insurers, and maintaining workflow deadlines.

Ideal candidates will have strong computer skills, attention to detail, and a customer-focused approach. Healthcare exposure and Salesforce experience are preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Salesforce experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Confirm Insurance Coverage.
• Determine necessity for pre-authorization and obtain authorization for scheduled patients.
• Help perform eligibility checks for ongoing patients.
• Provide standardized documentation within system to identify prior authorization and the criteria surrounding such authorization accurately and timely.
• Notify patients and/or clinical staff of any services requested and/or referred that are not authorized by insurance.
• Contact physician offices via fax/phone to obtain information necessary to secure an authorization.
• Contact insurance offices via fax, portals, and/or phone to obtain authorization.
• Monitor all tasks using workflow software and meet deadlines.
• Advise clinical staff when issues arise relating to obtaining prior authorization.
• Adhere to Hopebridge policies and procedures.
• Assist with problem solving to improve efficiency and morale within the office.
• Maintain positive attitude and ensure customer and co-worker satisfaction.
• Promote Hopebridge philosophies and team morale.
• Attend weekly meetings and training as requested.
• Other duties as assigned.
