The Pre Analytics Processing Technician II plays a vital role in the laboratory by ensuring specimens are accurately processed and prepared for testing. In this role, you will manually accession and process laboratory specimens, perform daily quality assurance activities, maintain laboratory equipment, and complete routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
A caregiver in this position works evenings from 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Receive andaccessionspecimens into the LIS (Lab Information System).
Prepare specimens for analysis.
Perform manual processing (centrifuge, aliquoting, and routine maintenance), problem-solvingfunctions,and issue resolution.
Assume compliance with basic regulations (temperature monitoring).
Perform QA activities (pendinglog audit).
Retrieve, sort, track and deliver specimens and verify receipts in the lab.
Perform basic clerical functions (i.e.,answeringphones).
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED
One year of lab experience

Physical Requirements:
Manual dexterity to perform specimen handling techniques and to take measurements
May require extended periods of standing, walking and/or sitting.
Handles and transports bio hazardous materials.
Visual acuity, including the ability to distinguish colors.
Must have normal or corrected vision.
Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds.
