Job summary

Resurgens Surgical Center, part of United Surgical Partners International, Inc (USPI), is seeking a Preadmission Nurse (PAT RN) to organize and direct PAT activities in compliance with nursing standards and federal/state guidelines. The PAT RN will contact patients before surgery to assess medical and medication history, review orders, provide preadmission teaching, and coordinate preop assessments.

This role involves caring for adult patients, including elderly and pediatric patients 15 years

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• One year experience required in intra-operative setting.
• Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Organize and direct PAT activities in accordance with nursing standards and guidelines.

Pre Admissions Testing RN (PAT RN)

The Preadmission Nurse (PAT RN) has the responsibility for organizing and directing activities in accordance with nursing standards, JC, Medicare and all other applicable federal, state and local guidelines. PAT RN may assume the following PAT responsibilities: contact, by way of telephone, all patients prior to surgery to assess medical and medication history, review for appropriate lab, x-ray, EKG orders to determine where and when these procedures are to completed and provide preadmission teaching. The RN can expect to care for adult patients, including the older adult through geriatric, and pediatric patients 15 years or older. The RN may perform laboratory testing required prior to surgery as ordered.
