Job summary

Haymarket Surgery Center is seeking a PRN Pre-Admissions Registered Nurse (PAT RN) to perform pre-operative assessments and coordinate patient care from admission to surgery.

The ideal candidate holds an active VA RN license, 3+ years in a surgical/perioperative setting, and demonstrates strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills. BLS certification is required.

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a PRN PAT Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the pre-operative assessment of patients, ensuring a smooth and seamless experience from admission to surgery.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments of patients


• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans


• Provide education to patients and their families regarding pre-operative instructions and post-operative care


• Ensure compliance with all relevant medical and legal standards


• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient record.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license in VA.


• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a surgical or perioperative setting


• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team


• Current BLS certification
