Job summary

Virginia Urology is seeking a Pre-Admission Testing Registered Nurse to educate and prepare pre-operative patients for surgery in a fast-paced setting. You will assess, order labs, coordinate with anesthesia, and ensure aseptic safety in the PAT department. Role requires 1+ year in PAT/pre-op/post-op care and Virginia RN licensure.

The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday at the Stony Point location. Competitive benefits and professional development support are offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed in the State of Virginia or awaiting reciprocity.
• CPR and ACLS certifications.
• Registered Nurse with a minimum of 1 year experience in pre-admission testing, pre-operative, and/or post-operative care unit.

Responsibilities

• Develops a plan of care that meets individual patient’s needs and follows established nursing standards of care/practice.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in this unit.
• Uses critical thinking skills in the formulation and implementation of the patient’s plan of care. Records actions and patient responses.
• Delivers care with respect to the individual’s spiritual and cultural needs.
• Performs pre-operative assessment based on VUSC guidelines and coordinates with anesthesia.
