Qualifications

• Associate Degree of Nursing and active RN license in AZ.
• One year of general RN care experience.
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association).
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association).
• EKG competency within six months of joining.

Responsibilities

• Performs ongoing systematic assessments including physiologic, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and cognitive status; includes education and advocacy.
• Formulates a goal-directed plan of care based on nursing diagnoses and patient outcomes; implements care thoroughly.
• Sets priorities for patient care based on needs and resources; evaluates care effectiveness by the health care team.
• Effectively communicate with patients, staff and providers, including teach-back when needed.
• Documents patient care and unit activities timely and accurately; respects rights and beliefs.
• Demonstrates safety principles and delivers non-judgmental, non-discriminatory care that preserves patient autonomy, dignity and rights.

• Performs assessment/data collection in an on-going systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and cognitive status; also nutrition, pain, patient/family education, family involvement and patient advocacy.
• Formulates a goal-directed plan of care that is prioritized and based on determined nursing diagnosis and patient outcomes. Implements care in a thorough, skillful and consistent manner.
• Establishes priorities for patient care based on essential patient needs and available unit resources of time, personnel, equipment, and supplies.Evaluates effectiveness of care given by health care team members.
• Effectively communicate with patients, staff and providers. Identifies patient/family learning needs and implements appropriate measures, including teach-back.
• Documents patient care and unit activities in a timely, accurate, and concise manner. Demonstrates an awareness of and sensitivity to patient/family rights, age specific needs, cultural and ethical beliefs.
• Demonstrates knowledge of and applies safety principles as identified within the institution. Delivers care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner that preserves/protects patient autonomy, dignity and rights.

Job Requirements

Required

• Associate Degree of Nursing
• One (1) year of general RN care experience
• Valid compact state or Arizona RN license
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - AHA ACLS
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider - AHA BLS
• Demonstrates competency in basic EKG skills by passing EKG test or completing basic EKG class/modules within six months of the position

Preferred

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Two (2) years of medical/surgical experience or one year of critical care and/or PACU experience
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN)
