Job summary

Animas Surgical Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse in Pre-Admission Testing to coordinate and educate patients preparing for surgery. The PAT RN will review health histories, medications, and labs, identify risks, and collaborate with anesthesia and surgeons to optimize readiness.

Ideal candidates hold a BSN and an active RN license with at least one year in acute care; perioperative experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN License.
• Minimum one year acute care nursing experience.
• Previous perioperative/post-anesthesia experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pre-operative nursing assessments and medical history review.
• Identify actual or potential perioperative risks and communicate findings to providers.
• Coordinate pre-admission process and provide patient education.
• Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic health record.
• Ensure readiness for surgery and regulatory compliance.
