Job summary

MelroseWakefield Hospital in the Boston area seeks an experienced RN for Pre-Admission Testing. The role delivers professional nursing care in a high-functioning surgical services setting, supporting a wide range of procedures with emphasis on patient safety and throughput. The position offers a 24-hour weekly schedule (9:00 a.m.

– 5:30 p.m.) with no on-call, weekends, or holidays. Required: MA RN licensure and BLS; OR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN Licensure.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Department specific certifications may be required.
• Experience based on level I–IV.
• Minimum 1 year OR experience.
• Circulating and scrubbing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in accordance with physician orders and patient plan of care.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for designated patient groups.
• Deliver professional nursing care and contribute to unit operations.
• Develop and document individualized care plans and discharge planning.
• Delegate and coordinate care based on patient needs and team skills.
• Educate patients and families and document education according to standards.
• Support staff development and participate in precepting.
• Participate in departmental committees and continuous improvement activities.
