Job summary

FOX VALLEY ORTHOPEDICS in Geneva, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse for Pre-Admissions to assess patients before surgery, coordinate pre-operative testing, and educate patients on procedures and safety. You will ensure documentation is complete and collaborate with the surgical team.

The role requires 3+ years of medical-surgical experience, an IL RN license, and EMR proficiency. Schedule is full-time, Monday–Friday; pay ranges from $33.00 to $40.50 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school/college of nursing required.
• Registered Nursing license in the State of Illinois.
• 3+ years medical-surgical experience with patient assessment skills.
• Knowledge of pre-operative nursing assessments and risk factors.
• Knowledge of anesthesia considerations and post-operative plans.
• Proficiency in EMR and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments reviewing history, meds, allergies.
• Coordinate pre-operative testing (labs, imaging, EKGs) and ensure results are communicated to the surgical team.
• Educate patients and families on pre-operative instructions and safety.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and schedulers to meet requirements.
• Identify anesthesia risks and develop appropriate care plans.
