Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Pre-Access Central Scheduler Bilingual to support the Peaks Regional Office in Broomfield, CO. The role schedules and pre-registers patients, handles high call volumes, and ensures accurate data entry and insurance validation.

You will work across multiple locations and departments with a focus on excellent customer service. The position requires at least a high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years in revenue cycle or contact center experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of revenue cycle experience and/or 2 years of contact center experience.
• Must pass the ALTA Language Services Qualified Bilingual Staff Assessment (QBS).

Responsibilities

• Schedules and pre-registers patients for appointments, outpatient visits, procedures, and other appointments captured by the department.
• Transcribes external orders from physicians.
• Handle high call volumes for multiple locations and departments.
• Input patient data into the system accurately.
• Validate patient insurance and explain benefits as needed.
• Manage multiple phone calls, including answering, transferring, and conferencing.
• Mentor new hires as needed.
• Promote Intermountain Health mission, vision, and values.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Schedules and pre-registers patients for appointments, outpatient visits, procedures, and other appointments captured by the department. Complete any administrative work that goes along with scheduling the appointment. Transcribe any external orders from Physican. Handle high call volumes for multiple locations and departments.

• Excellent computer skills with the expectation to self-resolve technical issues with minimal assistance
• Providing patients with preparation and location information.
• Correctly collecting and inputting patient data into the system.
• Validating patient insurance and explaining benefits as needed.
• Manage multiple phone calls, including answering, transferring, and conferencing between multiple parties.
• Acting as a mentor for new hires as needed.
• Promotes mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health, and abides by service behavior standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
• Frequent interactions with customers require employees to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
• For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
