Tulane University is seeking a Practicum Advisor II in the Master of Social Work (MSW) Practicum Education Department to manage student placements and provide ongoing oversight for practicum experiences. The role reports to the Assistant Director and supports the academic environment with faculty, staff, students, and site partners.
Ideal candidates hold a LMSW in Louisiana and an MSW from a CSWE-accredited program; licensure as an LCSW is preferred.
The Practicum Advisor II of the Master of Social Work (MSW) Practicum Education Department at Tulane School of Social Work (TSSW) is a key position responsible for the placement and ongoing oversight of placement of students for the practicum component of the Master of Social Work degree. The Practicum Advisor II will work with others in the Practicum Education Department and report to the Assistant Director of Practicum Education. The Practicum Advisor II is responsible for matching students with appropriate practicum sites and for assisting with the implementation of systems and processes to best direct the overall practicum learning experience. The Practicum Advisor II’s role is in part guided and defined by the policies and regulations of the Tulane School of Social Work’s accrediting body, the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
Selected candidates must complete and pass a background check and an occupational health screening as a condition of employment. For identified jobs, a drug screening will also be required. The background investigation required occupational health screening, and any required drug screening will be conducted after a conditional employment offer has been extended.
