Job summary

Townhead Medical Practice in Glasgow is seeking a committed Practice Nurse to join the clinical team. The role focuses on high-quality care for patients with chronic conditions, with cervical screening and sexual health knowledge desirable.

Training will be provided for the right candidate, who should be a motivated team player with great communication and organisational skills. We expect 4 days per week, with some flexibility on days and start date.

Qualifications

• A committed Practice Nurse with excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ideal candidates will be experienced GPN and preferably a qualified prescriber; training will be provided.
• Focus on care for patients with long-term conditions and cervical screening; knowledge of sexual health desirable.
• Ability to assess clinically and arrange/monitor an agreed treatment plan; training can be provided.

Job description

An opportunity has arisen at Townhead Medical Practice for a committed and enthusiastic Practice Nurse to join our clinical team.

We are based within the Queen Elizabeth Building at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. We are a four Partner GP training practice with an existing team consisting of Nursing, Health Care, Physio and Salaried GPs.

The desired candidate would ideally be an experienced GPN & preferably a qualified prescriber, but training will be provided for the right candidate. They should be a highly motivated team player with excellent communication and organisational skills. They would work closely with the current care team and have an ability to demonstrate independent clinical thinking and deliver high quality patient focused care.

The post’s focus will be on delivering a high standard of care for patients with long term chronic conditions as well as the ability to perform cervical screening, have a knowledge of sexual health / reproductive services / HRT would be desired, the ability to assess clinically and arrange/monitor an agreed treatment plan – however the practice would support training towards this if required.

We are ideally looking for someone to join us 4 days per week (there is a degree of flexibility with the days & the start date).

Salary will be dependent on experience, annual leave will be 6 weeks pro-rata and you will be added to the SPPA pension scheme.
