The number of sessions and days are flexible for the right candidate. We are a 10-partner training practice with approximately 12,000 patients, operating from health-board owned premises centrally located within Ayrshire; an easy 30 minute commute from the Southside of Glasgow.
We have a dynamic and forward-thinking team, complemented by two salaried GPs, an experienced senior ANP, a practice nurse, two general practice pharmacists and an experienced and versatile healthcare assistant team. We work closely with our health board-employed pharmacy team, advanced physiotherapy practitioner, CTAC nurses, mental health practitioner, community link worker and income advisor. We have many years of experience of ANPs integrated within our clinical team. We offer a comprehensive and highly structured induction programme. Our highly valued ANPs work directly alongside our GPs through an on-the-day triage first system, but as a large practice there is also opportunity to have additional areas of specialist interest and professional development. Regular long-term structured support with a named GP mentor is provided to facilitate continuous ongoing individualised advancement.
Our focus is teamwork and to be supportive of one another. We strive to be inclusive and open, and encourage input from all our team members. We run regular Clinical Meetings for all clinicians which helps with CPD. We are an established GP Training Practice with 3 trainers and an excellent record of success. Townhead Surgery is regularly involved with tutoring University of Glasgow medical students, with very positive feedback.
Salary starting point is competitive and negotiable depending on level of qualification and prior experience. An excellent induction programme, structured support, and opportunities for professional development are provided.
Starting date can be flexible. We would be delighted to arrange informal visits to meet the team.
