Job summary

The Iowa Clinic is seeking a Practice Manager in Family Medicine to oversee daily operations acrossJohnson, Grimes, and South Waukee sites. You will collaborate with physicians and directors to deliver high‑quality, cost‑effective care and lead a team through hiring, training and performance management.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least five years of supervisory healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a business, finance, or health care related field or equivalent experience.
• Five years of supervisory experience in a medical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages, coordinates and directs the overall operational activities of assigned department(s) including multiple site locations.
• Works closely with physicians and administrative directors to maintain high‑quality, cost‑effective services.
• Hires, orients, supervises, evaluates performance, disciplines and terminates staff.
• Maintains awareness of applicable laws and regulations and ensures clinic compliance.
• Participates in strategic and long‑range planning.

A day in the life of a Practice Manager in Family Medicine:

• Manages, coordinates and directs the overall operational activities of assigned department(s) including multiple site locations.(Johnson, Grimes, and South Waukee)
• Works closely with the physicians and administrative directors in assuming accountability for maintaining high-quality cost-effective services.
• Hires, orients, supervises, evaluates performance, disciplines and terminates staff.
• Maintains awareness of applicable laws and/or regulations affecting the clinic and assures compliance.
• Participates in strategic and long-range planning.
• Promotes a positive, professional image of the organization internally and externally.
• Assumes accountability for enhancing own knowledge through professional associations, journals, workshops, in-services, etc. to pro-actively keep updated on potential issues affecting the clinic.
• Maintains awareness of applicable laws and/or regulations and remains current on changes.
• Recognizes implications of applicable laws and/or regulations to the clinic and implements or recommends courses of action to ensure compliance.

Practice Manager Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance or health care related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 years previous supervisory experience in a medical setting preferred.
