Animal Medical Centre of Greensboro is located in the northwest section of Greensboro, North Carolina. Established in 1986, we are a small animal practice serving Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point, Pleasant Garden, Reidsville, Oak Ridge, and Browns Summit.
More about the Role:
Reporting to the Regional Director of Operations, the Practice Manager manages all essential business functions in veterinary practice and supports the practice teams. The Practice Manager works in partnership with the Managing Doctor (MDVM) to ensure successful practice operations, high client satisfaction, and to manage practice teams. In collaboration with the MDVM, the Practice Manager is responsible for ensuring profitability of the practice, growing the business, and protecting the practice legacy. The critical focus areas to drive the desired success fall under the following umbrellas: Practice Operations, HR, Marketing, Strategic Planning, and IT Management. The Practice Manager must be a strong people manager, possess great business acumen, and enjoy leading and developing a team. Additionally, ensure the practice has engaged and productive teams that are driving high-quality patient care and exceptional client service. Practice Manager experience in the Veterinary field is required.
Schedule: 40 hours a week, 5 days a week

Essential Responsibilities:
- Manages practice financial performance, engaging teams around activities that drive revenue for growth.
- Manages practice expenses including pharmacy, supplies, labor, and facility.
- Ensures appropriate inventory management.
- Partners with MDVM to ensure accurate pricing is applied.
- Provides input during annual budget planning.
- Creates and analyzes performance reports to improve outcomes.
- Applies knowledge of veterinary practice management to direct successful daily operations.
- Ensures compliance with appropriate regulatory agencies.
- Ensures cleanliness of the practice for an excellent client experience.
- Responsible for staff scheduling and patient scheduling.
- Manages vendor and supplier relationships.
- Responsible for timely and accurate tracking of employee payroll.
- Responsible for accounts payable duties.
- Partners with MDVM to maintain an appropriate medical record system.
- Regularly reviews client feedback for practice improvement.
- Collaborates with Heartland Marketing to develop and implement a marketing strategy.
- Ensures the team is appropriately staffed.
- Supports practice operations as needed.
- Partners with MDVM to ensure adherence to operating procedures.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and laws.
- Ensures all team members complete annual compliance activities.
- Maintains confidentiality of employee records.
- Conducts regular staff meetings and trainings.
- Partners with RDO and HR to navigate employee relations.
- Conducts regular check-ins with team members.
- Monitors team member performance and provides feedback.
- Ensures professional development for all team members.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Full-time, on-site, ability to work on weekends when needed.
- Practice Manager experience in the Veterinary field is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in applied science, veterinary technology, or business a plus.
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety techniques.
- Excellent computer skills including MS office applications.
- Basic math and ability to calculate medication dosages.
- Strong communication skills.
