Practice Manager

Sunray Animal Clinic in Brunswick, ME

WHAT YOU’LL DO

1. Serve as the point person for staff questions and routine problems
2. Train new employees
3. Provide regular communication and input to Practice Leaders about staff concerns, employee performance issues, animal needs, maintenance or supply needs, workload concerns, etc.
4. Manage and oversee order inventory and maintain supplies needed for the hospital
5. Collaborate with staff to ensure efficient exam and surgery flow and hospital operations
6. Act as a liaison between departments to ensure questions and concerns are addressed in a timely manner
7. Delegate responsibilities to veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure a smooth workflow
8. Serve as a role model for staff

REQUIREMENTS

1. Extensive knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a veterinary hospital
2. Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
3. Leadership abilities – collaborative, yet able to work independently
4. Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
5. Ability to effectively handle incoming animals
6. Ability to manage complex and/or emotional situations
7. Strong organizational skills, capable of multi-tasking
8. Must be kind and caring to all staff and clients
9. Prior experience as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant preferred
10. An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
11. Certification as a Licensed Veterinary Technician preferred
