Kimley-Horn seeks a Practice Leader in Tampa, FL to expand our Transportation Planning/Traffic practice. You will lead growth, market to clients, and deliver a wide range of transport projects with autonomy and strategic oversight.

The role emphasizes ownership potential, mentorship, and leading a growing team while maintaining a strong client focus and profitable delivery.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of transportation planning, traffic engineering and design experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
• Proven track record of winning and delivering work locally.
• Established relationships with local DOT, agencies and municipalities.
• Ability to manage projects profitably through agency specifications.
• Excellent communication, leadership and technical skills.
• Strong client-facing and problem-solving abilities.
• Mentor staff and allocate resources effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to grow a Transportation/Traffic practice.

Overview

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Practice Leader to expand our Transportation Planning/Traffic practice in Tampa, FL!

Responsibilities

• Has an entrepreneurial spirit, creating a vision for growth in their personal practice while contributing to the growth of our transportation engineering practice in the local area and beyond
• Assists in marketing and business development efforts with our existing local municipal, state, and private clients, while delivering a wide variety of transportation planning, traffic engineering, roadway, and/or ITS-related projects with our growing team of transportation professionals
• Beyond serving our existing clients, has the ability to pursue own passions, leads, and clients
• Leadership responsibilities include:

  • Providing vision, business planning and strategy
  • Establishing goals
  • Building and maintaining positive client relationships
  • Having open communication with your partners and team
  • Growing and leading a Transportation/Traffic practice
• Our Project Managers/Practice Builders manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor
• The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business

• Demonstrated ability to manage transportation projects profitably through agency specifications
• Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills
• Strong desire and ability to be engaged with clients solving project problems
• Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
• Ability to manage and mentor staff and direct resources effectively in a positive manner

Salary Range:

• Competitive salary commensurate with experience, plus a lucrative bonus program rewarding performance and business growth.
• Salary Range: $150,000- $200,000
