Kimley-Horn is seeking a Practice Leader to expand the single-family Land Development practice in Salt Lake City, UT. The role leads a Land Development team, builds strong client relationships, and drives strategic growth with significant autonomy and potential for ownership.

Qualified candidates bring 15+ years of experience, a PE license, and strong BD and leadership skills to guide profitable projects and mentor staff within a people-focused culture.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience managing land development projects.
• Licensed PE with strong local client networks.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D and related tools.
• BD/marketing experience: proposals, scopes, budgeting.
• Strong communication across all organizational levels.

Overview

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Practice Leader to expand our single-family Land Development practice in Salt Lake City, UT!

Responsibilities

• The qualified individual will lead a Land Development team while building and managing relationships with key clients
• Leadership responsibilities include:
  • Operating with integrity and sound business principles
  • Providing vision, business planning and strategy
  • Establishing goals
  • Building and maintaining positive client relationships
  • Having open communication with your partners and team
  • Growing and leading a land development practice
• Our Project Managers/Practice Builders manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor
• The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business
• With success, this individual will enjoy the rewards of an impressive bonus program with the potential to advance to ownership

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant experience managing land development projects
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
• Extensive client contacts and relationships with local architects, developers, land use attorneys, planners and/or land owners
• Strong technical skills with AutoCAD Civil3D
• Business development and marketing experience including writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgeting for projected work
• Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
• Ability to manage & mentor staff, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
• Demonstrated ability to manage land development projects profitably
