Job summary

Summary

The Practice Group Analyst, working in collaboration with and in support of the firm’s strategic initiatives, provides support to maximize results and increase the operational effectiveness of the firm and its practice groups in particular. Provides a variety of duties in the areas of management reporting, project coordination, and implementation of practice group initiatives. Supports the firm's Practice Group Directors in their oversight of the firm's critical business processes. Manages multiple projects and initiatives as needed.

Location

This position can sit in our Chicago or Austin office and offers a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Reports and summaries, creating and maintaining spreadsheets and analysis, and preparing presentations.
  • Creates reports and analyses that highlight the performance of the practice group related to budgets, production, fees and revenue.
  • Analyzes and communicates with both internal stakeholders (attorneys, other staff departments) and international colleagues as needed on a variety of topics to include at the matter and client level.
  • Conduct thorough research and data collection to fulfill assignments leveraging firm tools and databases and internal points of contact.
  • Coordinates projects and implements best practices in project management.
  • Compiles and analyzes progress reports and/or follows-up with lawyers on matter plans that require modification or communication with clients.
  • Works on special projects in support of the Firm’s strategic initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Operations & Coordination
  • Coordinate practice group meetings, retreats, and operational activities.
  • Prepare agendas, meeting materials, action item trackers, and follow-up communications.
  • Support implementation and monitoring of practice group initiatives and strategic priorities.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among attorneys, business professionals, and practice group leadership.
  • Maintain departmental resources, documentation, SharePoint sites, and workflow tools.
  • Assist with workload tracking, staffing coordination, and resource planning efforts.
  • Support process improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency across the practice group.

  • Preferred experience with PowerBI, and previous experience in a law firm or other professional services firm.
  • Proficient in summarizing and deriving answers from large data sets.

Physical Demands

Sedentary work: This is primarily sedentary work, requiring occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects. The role involves sitting for extended periods, with occasional walking and standing, and occasional travel, both domestic and international.

Work Environment

The individual selected for this position may have the opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement combining remote and in-office work. The specific arrangement will be determined at the time of hiring and may be modified at the firm’s discretion.

Compensation & Benefits
  • The firm’s expected hiring range for this position is $88,383 - $117,111 per year depending on the candidate’s geographic market location. The compensation offered for employment will also be dependent on other factors including the candidate’s experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications.
  • We offer a comprehensive package of benefits, including medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
