Qualifications

  • AS: Nursing degree required.
  • BLS – Basic Life Support and RN license required (NYSED).
  • Familiarity with ICD-9-CM coding where applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Manager to ensure monthly/quarterly reporting.
  • Assist with staff orientation and precepting for new non-provider staff.
  • Support annual performance appraisals for non-provider staff.
  • Maintain staff schedules, coverage plans, and staffing inventories.
  • Assist with payroll time sheets and timely submission of department time data.
  • Attend and contribute to monthly staff meetings and disseminate information.
  • Oversee department office supplies within budget and manage procurement.
  • Perform medical secretary duties when needed and lead in the manager's absence.
  • Assist with phones, appointment scheduling, and filing.
  • Maintain petty cash and change funds.
  • Ensure regulatory and payer requirements are understood and followed.

Job Title: Practice CoordinatorDepartment: Penn YanLocation: Finger Lakes Medical Associates – Penn Yan Family Medicine & Geneva Destination CampusHours Per Week: Full-timeSchedule: Monday-Friday 8a-4:30pSummary:Responsible for performing and/or supervising the daily business office functions and operations of non-provider staff in conjunction with the manager.Key Responsibilities:Works collaboratively with Manager to ensure monthly/quarterly reporting.May be responsible for departmental orientation/precepting oversight for new non-provider staff and may assist the manager with preparations for the ongoing and annual performance appraisals of the non-provider staff. Ensures that the annual mandatory in-services are completed by all staff.Maintains/assists office staffing schedules and provides a procedure for covering absences, including floating of internal staff, usage of per diem and/or temps, and sharing staff between offices.Provides support to the Manager for accurate completion and timely submission of departmental time sheets/payroll activities.Attends and/or participates in documented monthly meetings; including developing an agenda for staff meetings and disseminating information to office staff.Assists with oversight of departmental office supplies within budget.Performs all functions of medical secretary when necessary.
