Job summary

Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, NC seeks an experienced Nursing Instructor to deliver classroom, clinical, and laboratory instruction. You will prepare lessons, supervise student performance, and maintain a safe learning environment while fostering student success.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a current unrestricted RN license in North Carolina, and at least two years of clinical nursing experience. Teaching experience and a Master’s degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science in Nursing.
• A current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Must have two (2) calendar years’ prior full time employment, or the equivalent, in clinical nursing practice as a registered nurse.
• Must meet educational requirements of the NC Board of Nursing within three (3) years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Instructs and guides courses in classroom, clinical, and laboratory settings.
• Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance.
• Prepares thoroughly for instructional responsibilities.
• Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment.
• Grades and returns student work in a timely manner.
• Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course.
• Supervises and evaluates student classroom and clinical performance.
• Obtains and maintains laboratory supplies/safe use of laboratory equipment.
• Coordinates the use of facilities and resources within and outside the college.
• Develops supplemental instructional materials for presentation of theoretical and laboratory content.
