Job summary

Jefferson-Lewis-Hamilton-Herkimer-Oneida BOCES is seeking a full-time Nursing Instructor for the Practical Nursing Program, with daytime duties in didactic, simulation lab and clinical instruction. Position is 10-month and commensurate with experience.

Candidates must hold a Master of Science in Nursing, an active NYS RN license, and have at least two years of medical-surgical nursing experience. CPR/BLS certification is required and employment includes health benefits and retirement eligibility.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Nursing is required for full-time instructor positions.
• Unencumbered New York State license as a Registered Nurse
• Minimum two years RN medical-surgical experience
• Current CPR/BLS card and/or instructor card
• Pre-Employment Assessment and NYSED Requirements: fingerprints, DASA Training, SAVE Workshop, Child Abuse Identification, certification acquisition

Responsibilities

• Instruct didactic, simulation lab and clinical portions of the Practical Nursing Program.
• Advise students and address disciplinary matters as needed.
• Contribute to accreditation through course and program revisions.
• Participate in program development and assessment activities.
• Perform duties as directed by Health Careers Coordinator or Director of Adult & Continuing Education

DUTIES

Nursing Instructor position: full-time/daytime faculty position in the Practical Nursing Program. Position will be responsible for successfully performing the professional duties of didactic, simulation lab and clinical instruction.

• accreditation including course and program revision
• program development
• assessment development and monitoring
• perform other professional duties as directed and/or approved by the Health Careers Coordinator or Director of Adult & Continuing Education

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Master of Science in Nursing is required for full-time instructor positions. Bachelor of Science holders will be considered for clinical roles only
• Unencumbered New York State license as a Registered Professional Nurse
• Minimum experience two years as an RN with medical-surgical experience
• Current CPR/BLS card and/or instructor card
• Pre-Employment Assessment and NYSED Requirements:
• Approved fingerprints prior to hire date, DASA Training and SAVE Workshop, Child Abuse Identification Workshop, and acquisition of certification as per hire.
