Job description

Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse - New Grad Residency Program allows new LPN graduates to work in various settings to gain knowledge and experience in different nursing areas. The LPN utilizes the Nursing process and evidence-based practice to care for adult and geriatric residents in long-term and palliative care environments. The position may require travel between two campuses.

Qualifications

Applicants pending completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be considered tentatively but cannot be hired until all requirements are met.

Basic Requirements:
  • United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited, in accordance with VA Policy.
  • English Language Proficiency
  • Education: Graduate of an approved school of practical or vocational nursing, accredited by the NLNAC or equivalent, completed at the time of the applicant's graduation.
  • Exceptions include military health care education or military training accepted by the licensing jurisdiction, or individuals licensed without graduation from an approved school with at least one year of practice.
  • Licensure: Active, full, current, and unrestricted licensure as an LPN/LVN in the U.S. or its territories or D.C.
