Job summary

The State of Louisiana is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Home in Monroe. You will provide quality nursing care to residents in stable conditions under progressively more generalized supervision.

The position is in the Nursing Department, with a Day Shift (6:45a-7:15p). Career progression may include LPN 1, 2, or 3, and the Civil Service pay plan includes stepped rates up to $22.30/hr plus $7.00 per hour incentive pay and applicable shift

• Possession of a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, a temporary permit, or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC).

• Transcribe physicians' orders and record medication and the patient's condition in the medical records.
• Apply dressings, ointments, and other treatments as ordered and document the procedure.

The primary objective of the home is to provide quality nursing care to eligible veterans with the ultimate goal of returning the veterans to the highest possible levels of physical and mental capacity.

We’re looking for a compassionate and reliable Licensed Practical Nurse to provide quality nursing care to residents in stable and predictable conditions at Northeast Louisiana Veterans Home, in accordance with the Professional Nurses Practice Act. As an LPN, you will implement selective aspects of the nursing care plan, i.e., comfort, hygiene, safety measures, nutrition, etc., under progressively more generalized supervision from a Registered Nurse or Practical Nurse of a higher level.

Compensation: This position receives the following pay mechanisms:

The Special Entrance Rate: Practical Nurse - Licensed, 1 is $19.48

Practical Nurse - Licensed, 2 is $20.84

Practical Nurse - Licensed, 3 is $22.30

PREMIUM PAY (per HOUR physically worked): $7.00 work incentive pay upon hire.

Shift Differential: This position qualifies for shift differentials, with rates varying based on shift time, day of the week, and holidays..
