QTEC Aerospace is seeking a SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS TEST ENGINEER to join our team of professionals in Colorado Springs, CO. The successful candidate will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government in support of a Missile Defense System (MDS) with a mission of protecting the United States and our allies. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.

Job Summary

QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidate will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs. The chosen candidate will be a member of the Regional Applications Agile Release Train (ART) of the Missile Defense National Team.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:

1. Participate in software design and peer reviews, develop test specifications and infrastructure, execute manual and automated tests, and perform analysis of program implementation in an integrated environment or to test specific capabilities for interfaces or infrastructure in support of operations (e.g., Internal Messaging, control and monitoring, message and display recording and playback, failover processing).
2. Occasional travel between Colorado Springs facilities/sites (LM Federal Drive facility to Schriever SFB) and between Colorado Springs and Huntsville, AL is expected.

Minimum Education and Experience

1. Bachelor's Degree (Mathematics, Science, Engineering, or Computer Science) or significant professional experience with at least 5 years of experience, or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of experience.
2. IAT Level II/ IAM Level I DoD 8570 certification (GSEC, Security+ CE, SCNP, SSCP or similar).

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. Prior experience in an Agile development process.
2. Prior experience testing and verifying requirements in software applications/systems.
3. Conducting post-processing and analysis of collected data.
4. Development of action plans based upon analysis of data.
5. Documenting software deficiency reports.
6. Presenting analysis results and plans of action orally and/or in written format (e.g., slides, annotated slides, test report document).
7. Knowledge and experience in testing and evaluation of a software-intensive system in a variety of test environments/venues, utilizing Agile development.
8. Capable of diving into problems with assistance from other test engineers and software developers.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed.
10. Self-starter with ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. Automated testing for requirement verification.
2. Performance requirement and verification analysis.
3. Verification of ICD and interface requirements.
4. Experience in a DevSecOps environment.

Security Clearance

Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.

Salary Range

The below salary range represents a general guideline; however, QTEC considers a number of factors when determining base salary such as the scope and responsibilities of the position as well as the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.

Salary Range: $82,000 - $161,000
