Job summary

MOR PPM Inc. is seeking plant mechanics in Dallas, TX. The Plant Mechanics will install and/or maintain machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, and written instructions in industrial establishments.

Current Tappisafe Basic candidates preferred. Essential duties include reading schematics, assembling and testing machines, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining equipment to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• 4 years work experience as an industrial plant mechanic or completed a related vocational curriculum with 2 years’ experience.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures; dismantles machines; moves machinery and equipment.
• Assembling and installing machines then testing them to ensure they operate correctly.
• Maintain compliance with all safety regulations in effect at the work site.
• Manage layout and placement of equipment to minimize downtime in factory settings.
• Identify and repair faulty components by testing, temporarily repairing, or replacing parts.
• Dismantle older machines and install new ones.
• Oversee preventive maintenance to address potential issues and lubricate parts.
• Operate equipment such as forklifts to move mechanical parts.
• Assemble and install shafts, conveyors, pumps, turbines, and other components; align and secure equipment.
• Perform duties as assigned by supervisor and maintain a clean, safe work area.

Job Summary

MOR PPM Inc. is seeking plant mechanics in Dallas, TX. The Plant Mechanics will install and/or maintain machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, and written instructions in industrial establishments. Current Tappisafe Basic candidates preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:--

• Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures; dismantles machines; moves machinery and equipment.
• Assembling and installing machines then testing them to make sure they are working correctly
• Must workin full compliance with the approved safety regulations
• Managing the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtime
• Identifying and repairing problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts
• Dismantling older machines and replacing them with new ones
• Overseeing preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn out pieces and lubricating mechanical parts
• Using machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, to move mechanical parts
• Assembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines and blowers; aligns machines and equipment using reverse alignment method; assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures; may operate engine lathe to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications; may repair and lubricate machines and equipment; may be involved in the grouting activity for equipment base plates.
• Performs any other duties assigned by supervisor
• Performs all work in a safe and efficient manner and keeps work area in a clean and orderly condition.

Qualifications:

Preferred: 4 years work experience as an industrial plant mechanic or has successfully completed a curriculum closely related to plant mechanic work from a vocational institution with 2 years’ experience.

Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements:

• Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically through DocuSign
• May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Must possess enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above
• Must be able to move in and around confided spaces and uneven areas
• Must have full range of motion consistent with age
• Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders
• Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises
• Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces
• Safety/Steel toe shoes are required
