Qualifications

• Preferred: Five (5) years mechanical maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints to determine work procedures.
• Assemble and install machines ensuring proper operation.
• Manage layout for minimum downtime.
• Manage the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtime.
• Identify and repair problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts.
• Dismantle older machines and replace them with new ones.
• Oversee preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn out pieces, and lubricating mechanical parts.
• Use machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, to move mechanical parts.
• Assemble and install equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines, and blowers.
• Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor.
• Perform all work in a safe and efficient manner and keep work area clean and orderly.

Job Overview

Job Summary

Mechanics will install and/or maintain machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, and written instructions in industrial establishments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures; dismantle machines; move machinery and equipment.
• Assemble and install machines and test them to ensure proper operation.
• Work in full compliance with approved safety regulations.
• Manage the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtime.

Physical Requirements / Job Site Requirements

• Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically through DocuSign.
• May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must possess enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions identified above.
• Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas.
• Must have full range of motion consistent with age.
• Must be able to climb and maintain balance on ladders.
• Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms, and other job-related noises.
• Visual acuity, depth perception, and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces.
• Safety/Steel toe shoes are required.
