Job Summary

MOR PPM Inc. is seeking plant mechanics in Dallas, TX. The Plant Mechanics will install and/or maintain machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, and written instructions in industrial establishments. Current Tappisafe Basic candidates preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures; dismantles machines; moves machinery and equipment.
• Assembles and installs machines then tests them to ensure correct operation.
• Ensures full compliance with approved safety regulations.
• Manages layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to minimize downtime.
• Identifies and repairs problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts.
• Dismantles older machines and replaces them with new ones.
• Oversees preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn‑out pieces, and lubricating mechanical parts.
• Uses machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, to move mechanical parts.
• Assembles and installs equipment such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines and blowers; aligns machines and equipment using reverse‑alignment method; assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures; may operate engine lathe to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications; may repair and lubricate machines and equipment; may be involved in grouting activity for equipment base plates.
• Performs other duties assigned by supervisor.
• Performs all work in a safe and efficient manner and keeps work area clean and orderly.

Qualifications

Preferred: 4 years work experience as an industrial plant mechanic or has successfully completed a curriculum closely related to plant mechanic work from a vocational institution with 2 years’ experience.

Physical Requirements / Job Site Requirements

• Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically through DocuSign.
• May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must possess sufficient strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions identified above.
• Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas.
• Must have full range of motion consistent with age.
• Must be able to climb and use ladders safely.
• Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job‑related noises.
• Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces.
• Safety/Steel toe shoes are required.
