Job summary

Tata Elxsi is seeking a Validation Engineer in San Francisco to perform verification and validation testing on vehicle Drive Unit integration. You will create test plans, document results, and troubleshoot equipment including CANoe, CANalyzer, and related tools.

Expect up to 50% travel for field validation and supplier activities. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in EV drive systems, familiarity with CAN/XCP, high-voltage safety, and a BS/MS in Electrical Engineering.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in EV drive systems, including system analysis and validation.
  • Strong understanding of EV drive motor and inverter fundamentals, and vehicle-level validation.
  • Experience analyzing CAN and XCP data using CANalyzer, Canape, PCAN View, INCA, and terminal interfaces.
  • Working knowledge of automotive communication protocols CAN, XCP.
  • Experience working safely with high-voltage systems (up to ~500 VDC).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced development environment with strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Salary: $80-100K annually based on experience
