Job summary

RENK America in Muskegon, MI is seeking a Test Engineer Intern to assist test engineers in developing and executing test plans for engine and powertrain testing. This role supports the electronics team, specifies instrumentation, and helps prepare data for final test reports.

You will collaborate with internal test customers, help design integration plans for hardware/software, and participate in planning capital improvements to improve test cell efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical, Electrical or Software Engineering; Jr. or Sr. status.
• Demonstrated systems test experience in a lab environment.
• GPA 3.0 minimum; strong technical ability.

Responsibilities

• Derive and verify customer test specifications.
• Maintain and utilize software for test data acquisition, reduction, plotting, and tracking.
• Assist in planning and executing tests of diesel engines, cross-drive transmissions, and other powertrain equipment.
• Prepare test documentation and customer presentations.
• Design and specify control systems for test cells, fixtures, and equipment including software and sensors.
• Work with test technicians in operation and maintenance of test equipment.
• Collaborate closely with internal test customers.
