Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking a Mechanical, Test & Validation Engineer for a 1-year contract to support durability testing and validation of conventional and electrified powertrains in the United States. The role focuses on coordinating development vehicle testing, ensuring test readiness, and analyzing data for root-cause resolution.

The engineer will work with a cross-functional Powertrain Support team, emissions laboratories, and global engineering partners, delivering concise technical reports

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, or a related engineering field.
• Minimum two years of experience with light-duty engine or powertrain development, including combustion, emissions control, OBD, drivability, calibration, or durability testing.
• Experience with light-duty engine control units; Bosch control units preferred.
• Working understanding of light-duty emissions and OBD regulations for vehicle development and testing.
• Proficiency with powertrain development and data-analysis tools such as INCA and MATLAB/Simulink, plus strong communication for concise technical reporting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute powertrain durability testing activities for development vehicles across the United States.
• Own vehicle test readiness by coordinating vehicle preparation and pre-test checks.
• Drive day-to-day mileage accumulation and durability test execution, monitoring progress and deviations.
• Coordinate emissions laboratory scheduling and review results for completeness and plausibility.
• Perform first-level diagnostics and support root-cause analysis and countermeasure validation.
