A bachelor’s degree in engineering and 4–7 years of related experience are required. The role involves CAD-driven design, 3D modeling, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to customer specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• 4–7 years of related experience in powertrain/drivetrain engineering.
• Experience with CAD software and 3D modeling.
• Familiar with Cummins IQA processes and related tools.
• Knowledge of powertrain components, system integration, and design optimization.

Responsibilities

• Leads the design, development, execution, and implementation of powertrain & drivetrain components for heavy-duty vehicles.
• Uses CAD software to lead design, model 3D designs, and produce detailed 2D drawings.
• Ensure designs meet customer requirements and specifications.
• Execute engineering changes through ECN processes and documentation.
• Leads creation and review of material part specifications and BOMs.
• Delivers complete engineering packages emphasizing manufacturing efficiency.
• Understand manufacturing processes with emphasis on metal fabrication.
• Verify designs using calculations and analytical tools.
• Define test requirements and interpret results to validate designs.
• Identify problems, root causes, and define resolutions.
• Apply lean principles to manufacturing and business processes.
