Job summary

This role requires CAD excellence, GD&T expertise, and a strong engine design background. The candidate should understand powertrains (conventional, hybrid, electrified), travel internationally, and contribute to process improvements with a can-do attitude.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4–7 years in automotive design and development with engine design focus.
• Demonstrable CAD skills and strong GD&T understanding.
• Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Produce 3D models, 2D drawings, technical reports, and instruction sheets per design processes and standards.
• Attend routine Design Reviews and report key design metrics.
• Develop countermeasures to meet cost, mass, and fatigue targets based on evaluation results.
• Build relationships with drivetrain, engine design, purchasing, and manufacturing teams.
• Project manage suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of quality parts per milestones.
• Drive design-process improvements to enhance capability, quality, and delivery.
• Benchmark similar designs to stay competitive in cost and expectations.
• Travel domestically and internationally ~10% (1–2 times/mo, 3–4 days).
• Overtime ~20%.
