Job summary

Impellam Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer/Engineer for Powertrain Assembly to join its Powertrain Engineering team. Develop concepts, detailed designs, layouts, and BOMs for powertrain assembly and test production systems using SolidWorks.

Collaborate with manufacturing and project teams to meet specifications and processes. Travel may be required domestically and internationally to support projects, resolve issues, and verify field installations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of mechanical design and engineering experience in powertrain assembly systems.
• Experience designing equipment for powertrain manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of engine block assembly, cylinder heads, manual and automatic transmissions, engine testing systems, and powertrain assembly processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs for powertrain tooling, equipment, and stations using CAD software.
• Create 3D models, 2D drawings, layouts, and BOMs.
• Review and approve engineering design changes and documentation.
• Support manufacturing, commissioning, and field verification during build, installation, and launch.
