Alliant Energy is seeking qualified applicants for an Apprentice/Journey level line mechanic. The role involves constructing and maintaining electric distribution infrastructure across varied terrains, with training opportunities at multiple operations centers.

You will perform installation, pole work, equipment operation and safety- focused service restoration while following all safety rules. Applicants must complete a Line Mechanic Apprenticeship, hold a valid CDL, and comply with DOT

Competenze

High School Diploma required.
Successful completion of Line Mechanic Apprenticeship.
Obtaining and maintaining a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements may apply.

Mansioni

Install, tension, tie in and remove conductors/guys.
Install/remove, frame and climb poles, towers and other structures.
Operate basket trucks, digger trucks, trenchers, backhoes and related equipment.
Restore electric service safely and promptly after outages or failures.
Install and maintain street and security lighting equipment.
Field test and maintain line transformers, including oil sampling.
Work on energized lines with proper safety procedures.
Respond to emergency calls to protect the public and employees.
