Job summary

Cordoba Corporation is seeking Designers for the Energy-Electric team to design and analyze overhead and underground electric utility lines in California. The Designer will prepare drawings, perform voltage drop calculations, and ensure designs meet industry standards while supporting junior designers.

This hybrid role is based in El Centro, CA with up to 10% travel and Visa sponsorship not available. The position offers a pay range of $28.00–$43.00 per hour for Designer I and $34.00–$48.00 per

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years of experience in Electric Overhead and/or Underground utility design.
• Experience calculating voltage drop and flicker preferred.
• Proficiency using Overhead design software (O-Calc) preferred.
• Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide technical support to junior designers.

Responsibilities

• Produce and review overhead and underground distribution design packages.
• Prepare construction drawings, materials inventory, voltage drop calculations, environmental/FAA/permitting releases, easements, field photos, and notes, distribution planning coordination requests, and GIS maps.
• Understand and apply knowledge of overhead or underground Electric utility designs and construction standards to produce reliable designs.
• Review design documents and drawings for accuracy and address discrepancies.
• Provide clear comments and justifications for design deficiencies.
• Support junior designers and contribute to department goals.
